Chickens are prone to worm infestations. These are rarely life-threatening but should be prevented if possible and addressed when they occur to prevent the worms impairing the health of the birds. Worms take nutrients from the food that chickens ingest causing weight loss or restricted growth. Worms may also damage the digestive tracts of chickens and this can lead to infections. Infested birds will lay fewer eggs and may appear to be unwell. Chickens can be infested by roundworms, grapeworms and tapeworms.
Chicken Wormers at Little Peckers
At Little Peckers, we offer a comprehensive range of wormers for chickens. These include chemical anthelmintic products such as FLUBENVET which eradicate worms and also preventative herbal treatments which are suitable for organic environments. These liquid and pellet herbal wormers are palatable and can be added to your chickens’ feed. Please note that herbal treatments will not tackle grapeworms.
