Why Choose Allen & Page Baby Chick Crumbs?

Allen & Page are one of the UK’s most trusted smallholder feed brands. Their Baby Chick Crumbs are formulated to provide the high protein levels and balanced nutrition that newly hatched chicks need for strong, healthy early development. The crumb texture is easy for young chicks to pick up and consume from day one.

Key Benefits

  • Complete starter feed from hatching to 6–8 weeks
  • Feed as soon as possible after hatching
  • Crumb texture for easy consumption by young chicks
  • Supports healthy growth and development
  • 20kg bag with free P&P
  • From trusted UK smallholder feed brand Allen & Page

How to Feed

Feed ad lib (free access) as the sole ration from hatching to 6–8 weeks of age. In the week before switching to Poultry Grower Pellets, mix the crumbs and pellets together to ensure a gradual, stress-free changeover. Always ensure fresh, clean water is available at all times.

Important Note on Waterfowl

In an emergency, these crumbs can be fed to ducks or geese, but this should be done with caution as some products contain an anti-coccidiostat which can be harmful to waterfowl. For ducklings and goslings, use a specialist waterfowl starter feed.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I start feeding chick crumbs?
Feed as soon as possible after hatching — chicks need access to feed and water from their very first hours.

When should I switch to grower pellets?
Transition to Allen & Page Poultry Grower Pellets at 6–8 weeks of age. Mix crumbs and pellets together in the week before switching to ensure a gradual changeover.

Are these safe for ducklings?
Use with caution — some batches contain an anti-coccidiostat which can be harmful to waterfowl. For ducklings and goslings, use Allen & Page Duck Starter Crumbs instead.

Is this a complete feed?
Yes — Allen & Page Baby Chick Crumbs provide all the nutrition young chicks need from hatching. No additional supplements are required.

How should I store chick crumbs?
