Siting Your Nest Box

• Mount 1–2m from the ground in a sheltered, partially concealed position
• Face away from direct sunlight and prevailing wind
• Conceal with climbing plants or ivy if possible — robins prefer a hidden nest site
• Away from bird feeders to avoid disturbance to nesting birds
• Away from easy predator access (cats, squirrels)

Maintenance

Clean out annually in autumn after the breeding season. Wear disposable gloves and a dust mask when cleaning. It is illegal to disturb nesting birds between 1 February and 31 August.
