Johnston & Jeff Peanut Granules — High-Energy Peanut Pieces for All Garden Birds

Johnston & Jeff Peanut Granules are very fine grade pieces of peanut, including the nib — the part that contains the majority of the peanut’s vitamins, minerals and trace elements, as well as being high in oils and protein. All granules are finely sieved before packing to ensure no whole peanuts slip through. High in energy, easily digestible and safe for fledglings and small birds who can’t handle whole peanuts. Available in 1kg and 12.75kg.

How to Feed

Offer on a bird table, in a ground feeder or in a suitable mesh feeder. Suitable for robin, wren, dunnock and other small birds that cannot handle whole peanuts. Do not use in a standard peanut feeder — the fine granules will fall through the mesh.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the nib and why does it matter?
The nib is the inner part of the peanut kernel and contains the highest concentration of vitamins, minerals and trace elements. By including the nib in the granule mix, Johnston & Jeff Peanut Granules provide greater nutritional value than granules made from outer peanut pieces alone.

Are peanut granules safe during the breeding season?
Yes — unlike whole peanuts, peanut granules are fine enough to be safely fed to nestlings and fledglings. They can be offered year-round without the choking risk associated with whole peanuts.

Can I use these in a standard peanut feeder?
No — the fine granules will fall through the mesh of a standard peanut feeder. Offer on a bird table, in a ground feeder, or in a feeder with a fine mesh or tray suitable for granules.
