Frequently Asked Questions

What is an extruded pellet and how does it differ from a grain?
An extruded pellet is produced by processing ingredients under heat and pressure through a die, creating a uniform pellet with a highly digestible structure. Unlike raw grain, extruded pellets have a consistent nutritional profile and can be formulated to a precise specification. Energy Plus I.C.+ is designed to be added to grain mixes as a high-energy, high-protein supplement pellet rather than fed alone.

Why would I add Energy Plus to my grain mix?
Energy Plus I.C.+ is designed to increase the energy density and fat content of a standard grain mixture, which some fanciers prefer during intensive training periods or the racing season when birds have higher energy requirements. The high biological value protein content also supports fat utilisation.

What does I.C.+ (Immunity Concept+) mean?
I.C.+ stands for Immunity Concept+, Versele-Laga’s proprietary nutritional formula incorporated across the Plus range. It provides nutritional support for the immune system and general condition of pigeons. In Energy Plus, the I.C.+ formula is incorporated into the extruded pellet.

How much should I add to my grain mix?
The recommended inclusion rate is indicated on the product label. Start with the lower end of the recommended range and adjust according to your birds’ condition and the demands of your training and racing programme.

How should I store an 18kg sack?
Store in a cool, dry place in a sealed airtight container or bin away from direct sunlight and pests. Keep sealed between uses to preserve the freshness and integrity of the extruded pellets.
