How to Feed

Offer daily in a clean food bowl. Remove uneaten food and husks regularly and replenish with fresh mix. Always ensure fresh, clean water is available. Complement with fresh fruit, vegetables and a vitamin/mineral supplement for a complete and balanced diet. Avoid overfeeding oil-rich seeds such as sunflower — use as part of a varied diet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which parrot species is this suitable for?
Parrots Fruit Mega is formulated for larger parrot species including African Greys, Amazons, Cockatoos, Macaws and similar large parakeet species. The coarse ingredient size is well suited to stronger bills. For smaller species, Versele-Laga offer dedicated mixes in appropriate sizes.

Can I use this as the sole diet?
Parrots Fruit Mega provides an excellent seed, nut and fruit base but should be complemented with fresh fruit, vegetables and ideally some complete pellets (such as NutriBird P15) for a fully balanced diet. Avoid feeding sunflower seed as the sole food source.

Why does this mix contain chilli peppers?
Parrots are naturally attracted to chilli peppers and, unlike mammals, are not sensitive to capsaicin. Chilli provides enrichment, natural foraging interest and is a source of vitamin C — a perfectly natural and beneficial ingredient for parrots.

How should I store this feed?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the bag sealed or decant into an airtight container to maintain freshness and prevent the dried fruits from absorbing moisture.
